Our Commitment
Trident Care is committed to providing a website that is accessible to the widest possible audience. Many of the people we support live with disabilities that affect how they use the internet, and we take that responsibility seriously in how we build and maintain this site.
What We've Done
This website has been built with accessibility in mind from the ground up. The measures we've taken include:
- Semantic HTML structure with a logical heading hierarchy so screen readers can navigate content easily
- All interactive elements (links, buttons, form fields) are fully keyboard accessible
- Visible focus indicators on all interactive elements for keyboard users
- Skip navigation links to bypass repeated content
- Sufficient colour contrast ratios meeting WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards for all text
- Descriptive alt text on all meaningful images
- Decorative icons marked as hidden from assistive technology so they don't create noise
- ARIA attributes on interactive components like our FAQ accordion (expanded/collapsed states announced)
- Form fields properly labelled and associated with visible labels
- Responsive design that works across desktop, tablet, and mobile screen sizes
- Clear, plain language throughout the site
Standards We Follow
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. These guidelines are the internationally recognised benchmark for web accessibility and are referenced by the Australian Government's Digital Service Standard.
Known Limitations
We're a small team and we're continually working to improve. If you encounter any content that doesn't meet accessibility standards, we want to know about it so we can fix it.
